The behavior of this judge is important to the context of this blog on "Our Criminal Justice System"
This blog needs a good introduction to which I can keep adding. I may be able to go back to the first page and change it, or I may create a new introduction. Everything is in testing now. Eventually I will get the feel and it will flow.
In criminal-justice academics, bad behavior, the precursor to criminal activity and actual criminal activity itself is labeled "Anti-Social" behavior. I will be using this phrase much as I write. It became a habit over 24 months of classes in the subject.
I knew the judge in the video before he killed himself. The judge had the facade of a pro-social person (the term used in criminal justice academics to describe people who obeyed the laws and desire to help others.) however the judge was anti-social in his behavior. He was of the opinion that his assistance to prosecutors to help their conviction rate was more important than "justice", and he accomplished such assistance very adroitly albeit he broke his oath to his office.
He was what Dr Barbara Oakley describes in her book "Evil Genes" as one of the "Successful, Narcissistic, Malevolent, Machiavellian Sociopaths". We all know these people but because they are "successful" we do not know their true nature. Those who are unsuccessful are in jail or after a very long period of anti-social or criminal-behavior they do go to prison.
Dr Barbara Oakley will be important in that which is written in this blog. She is intuitive about human nature gone bad.
